CACFP Food Program

The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federally funded program which is administered and funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service (FNS). The purpose of the program is to ensure that eligible children and adults who attend qualifying non-residential care facilities receive nutritious meals.

We are a part of the CACFP program here at A Child’s Life. We have a full time cook on staff to plan, prepare, and cook for the children.

At A Child’s Life we accept NC Childcare Vouchers.

The center will be closed on the following holidays; 

  • New Year’s Day (Jan 1st of each year)
  • Martin Luther King Day (Third Monday in January)
  • Good Friday (Movable date) 
  • Memorial Day (Last Monday of May) 
  • Independence Day (July 4th of each year)
  • Labor Day (The first Monday of every September)
  • Veteran’s Day (November 11th of each year)
  • Thanksgiving Day & the day after (The 4th Thursday & Friday of every November)
  • Christmas Eve (December 24th of each year)
  • Christmas Day (December 25th of each year)
  • Day After Christmas (December 26th of each year) 

If a holiday falls on a Saturday we will observe the Friday before. If a holiday falls on a Sunday we will observe the Monday after.

We are open week days from 6:30 AM till 5:30 PM.

No, we provide food for breakfast, lunch, and a pm snack. We also provide baby food for the infant room. The only thing we require parents to bring is pre-made bottles for the infants. 

Breakfast: 

  • Infants who can eat table food – 8:15 AM
  • Toddlers – 8:15 AM
  • Twos – 8:30 AM
  • Threes – 8:45 AM 
  • Pre-K – 9:00 AM

Breakfast stops at 9:00 AM.

Lunch:

  • Infants who can eat table food – 11:00 AM
  • Toddlers – 11:00 AM
  • Twos – 11:15 AM
  • Threes – 11:30 AM
  • Pre-K – 11:45 AM 

Afternoon Snack: 

  • Infants who can eat table food – 2:00 PM
  • Toddlers – 2:00 PM
  • Twos – 2:15 PM
  • Threes – 2:30 PM 
  • Pre-K – 2:45 PM
